Manuscript, in a single hand, of collection of 40 copies of letters from Bacon to various persons, mostly on matters of state. Contents include a letter of ceremony to Queen Elizabeth upon sending her a New Year's gift; a letter offering his service to King James I; several letters of advice to Robert Devereux, Earl of Essex, especially concerning Ireland; and letters to Robert Cecil, Earl of Salisbury, concerning "the solicitor's place." Other letters include several to diplomats in Ireland and one from Sir Thomas Bodley to Bacon concerning Bacon's Cogitata et visa.
